Istria

Leaders

Paul Tout lives in a village in the Italian Karst. Originally from Hertfordshire, until recently he was a teacher at the United World College of the Adriatic. Paul set up and led the ‘From the Alps to the Adriatic’ holiday for Honeyguide back in 1992, but also goes farther afield into Slovenia and Croatia, leading to his idea for a holiday on the peninsula of Istria.

We have just one minibus and leader on this year's holiday. If there had been a co-leader, it would have been Tim Strudwick ...

Tim Strudwick is the RSPB's Site Manager for the Mid Yare nature reserves in Norfolk – Strumpshaw Fen and nearby. Naturally Tim knows his birds from his work, 40 years of birdwatching and travelling in Europe and beyond, but he's also a keen botanist and runs courses on sedges and rushes. A more specialist expertise is in solitary bees and wasps, for which he is the Norfolk county recorder.
