Gerard Gorman is widely regarded as the most experienced bird guide in Hungary, indeed in all Eastern Europe. Born in the UK, he moved to Hungary in the mid 1980s. He led his first birdwatching holiday here in 1987 and has since led some 200 group holidays in the region. As well as being a regular contributor to birding magazines and journals, he is author of ‘A Guide To Birdwatching in Hungary’, ‘Where To Watch Birds in Eastern Europe, The Birds of Hungary, and most recently ‘Woodpeckers of Europe’, a particular interest - see his woodpeckers of Europe website.
